'Twitter messages not private' rules PCC

Material that is published on Twitter should be considered public and can be published, the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) has ruled.

I don't expect for one Gulab Jamon moment that 'Dr' Rita Pal will agree with this, but as long as she puts her Tweet messages into public view then they are fair game for others to report.

And that as far as I am concerned applies to her previous history of blogging.

'Dr' Rita Pal is a well established 'public figure', with ten years of 'commercial' publishing using NHS Exposed (her words) and other names.

I personally don't get why people want what they say, as Tweets between themselves and others, to be so public - unlike FaceBook where you can choose who are your FaceBook friends and can read what you say.

It doesn't make sense unless of course there's a benefit. But what 'Dr' Rita Pal says is so strange and combative it cannot be in her best interests - and for someone who was once a psychiatrist, who has friends from that profession, you would think she could work out the consequences.

'Dr' Rita Pal, you are a public figure, you are published, you want people to read what you write now. You may not want people to read what you have written in the past, but those who want to read it will read it. That's a promise.
